About the Challenge
We are excited to announce that Muswellbrook & Denman are one of five towns to be chosen to compete in the NSW Healthy Town Challenge for 2020.
The Healthy Town Challenge is a joint initiative of the NSW Office of Preventive Health and Heart Foundation NSW to help regional and rural communities become healthier.
Through a competitive process, five towns were selected to participate in the challenge with each town receiving a grant of $15,000. Funding will be used to facilitate healthy living activities for community members and to develop strategies that focus on local policies and infrastructure to create supportive environments. Towns are assessed on the success of developing and implementing these strategies with one town awarded a further $5,000 at the end of the challenge.
